Centre sends 80 metric tonnes of oxygen to Uttarakhand

 

“Enough oxygen is being supplied by the Centre to the state in view of the difficult circumstances arising out of the surge in COVID-19 cases,” CM Tirath Singh Rawat said.





Eighty metric huge loads of oxygen sent by the Center by an Oxygen Express train was dispatched to various areas of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. 

Hailing off trucks conveying the life-saving gas to different spots of Kumaon and Garhwal divisions from the Harrawala station in Dehradun, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal for expanding some assistance. "Enough oxygen is being provided by the Center to the state taking into account the troublesome conditions emerging out of the flood in COVID-19 cases," he said. 

In spite of the fact that there was never a lack of oxygen in the State, its utilization has gone up with the rising number of oxygenated beds in clinics and COVID care focuses, Mr. Rawat said. 

Oxygen supply from the Center will proceed later on as well, he added. Immunization of individuals matured 18-44 years has likewise started in the State and the activity has gotten an eager reaction from the recipients, the Chief Minister said.
